If an Alien Came to Earth

What would they think of our behavior and customs?

I can only describe this place as a sort of waterhole or meeting place. People appear to arrive there in search of nourishment. Those who enter are from many different tribes. They do not socialize with those outside their own tribe, but only with those giving out food. I find this particularly interesting since they are all in the same location. The young are put in a special area, which contains a large apparatus designed to train them how to crawl and climb. It seems as though a few elders are assigned to watch over them while the others indulge. Some strange animals stay on the outskirts of the area and appear to be to too timid to venture in. However, those in charge make sure they have something to eat before they run off. These waterholes appear all over the planet and they all vary slightly. They do, however, all share one similar characteristic.They are marked by glowing yellow hills that show all people the way, even from a distance.
